The brand “Meccanotecnica” is associated in the first place with most modern and efficient sewing equipment. And it’s really so: for 50 years its establishment (the anniversary was celebrated in September previous year) the company raised to the fore in the branch.
The entering of the printing branch into the “digital age” was followed by Meccanotecnica with development of a unique machine Uniwerse Sewing which allows making from a sheet pile a sewed book block. At the same time there is also a solution for web printing and online sewing: Legor Aster module.
Legor Aster allows producing thread-stitched book blocks from separate signatures printed on digital web printing machine. The module allows working “online” and locates after the folding module. The nipping station allows to process up to 150 digitally printed signatures per minute. The nipping of signatures goes stepwise, after that the signatures will be accumulated in piles with thickness up to 100 mm. The gathered piles will be transported to the conveyor and after that to the feeder of the sewing machine. The sewing operation and breaking of the book blocks followed by their output for the following processing, for example in the Universe Inline for gluing of book spine and inserting into the soft cover.
The SIKO Group of companies is an exclusive representative of Meccanotecnica in Russia and CIS.
